Please join us in Grass Valley, Oregon at the Pavilion for our Sherman County Historical Society Fall Program and Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at 1 p.m. After lunch is served the Wasco County Pioneer Man of 2019, John Brookhouse, will give a program on the history of a local section of the Columbia River. Between the mouth of the Deschutes River and the Celilo Falls and village was a small town called Celilo that constructed steamships that navigated the upper part of the Columbia River.
