Sherman Museum Offers New Exhibits
The Dalles Chronicle
5/17/98

The Sherman County Museum in Moro has opened for the season with new exhibits and handcrafted items in the Museum Store.

A new exhibit, "Sheriffs of Sherman County," features the men who upheld the law during railroad wars in the Deschutes River Canyon and the Prohibition era, while providing emergency services during floods and
range and wheat fires. The former county jail, once a ship's brig, is now open to the public for the first time.

Other new exhibits include "Helen's Collection," a display of treasured objects from generations of women, and "Wheat Through the Ages," which allows visitors to explore the history of wheat through photos, tools and video.
