Moro, OR – Horse tales and horse tails in Sherman County, horses and their riders and breeders are featured in the winter 2010 issue of Sherman County: For the Record. Published twice yearly since 1983 by Sherman County Historical Society, this historical anthology preserves stories of Sherman County’s families and events in the words of those who lived them.
This issue features horse enthusiasts Shirley Blaylock, Penny Eakin, Jill Nogle Milton Fletcher, Wilma Gentry Gale, Roseanna Macnab Hulse, Lee Kaseberg, Paula King, Pete Macnab, Patty Moore, Carol Jacobsen Olmstead, Deanna Padget, Amanda Perisho, Doug Reid, Arlene Macnab Slattum, Sharon Spencer, Don Thompson, Karen Thompson Umemoto, Dee Van Gilder and Barb Weedman who tell stories that take us from foals to six-hitch teams, from draft horses to Arabians, Appaloosas and Quarterhorses. Pages are reserved for recognition of memorial gifts to the Society.
