Moro, Ore. – The Sherman County Historical Museum’s annual Christmas Open House & Museum Store Sale on Saturday, December 5th in Moro will feature authors Jane Kirkpatrick from 11 until 2 and Keith May from 10 until 2. Kirkpatrick will make a special presentation at 1 p.m.
The Museum Store offers a 10%-off sale with 20%-off for Sherman County Historical Society members. Shoppers will find a unique inventory of classic and wooden toys, puzzles, books, Christmas ornaments, hand-blown glass wheat stalks, enamel-ware jewelry, plush animals, locally-hand-crafted beaded bracelets, tote bags and quilted purses with matching wallets, and the Museum’s signature afghan, wine goblets, mugs and wheat-design t-shirts.
Back issues of the Society’s historical anthology, Sherman County: For the Record, make fine Christmas gifts, as will a membership in the Society. Come, enjoy the music and refreshments of the season!
Moro will be buzzing with activity on the 5th. Downtown Moro shops, the Museum and Museum Store will be open from 10 until 4 o’clock.
Santa will join in the activities at Sherman Jr/Sr High School, which will include a spaghetti luncheon, Sherman Scholarship Christmas Bazaar, Christmas tree and swag sale and Lion’s Club boxed fruit sale. The basketball tournament will begin at 1 p.m., and a special program in the new library at 2 p.m.: “Wild Beauty: Photographs of the Columbia River Gorge, 1867-1957.”
