The Sherman Award for Visual Arts

At the Annual Meeting of the Sherman County Historical Society on Sunday November 16th, the Sherman County Development League presented the actors above and narrator the newly designed Sherman Award for promoting Sherman County via visual arts.  The premier of the movie titled Sherman County and Sherman County Museum was a “kid-centric” movie to promote tourism to the County and to aid in attracting visitors to the Sherman County Museum.  The Museum Director, Cal McDermid, also received the award by providing the narration and the script for the move.  The movie was produced by Howie Rubin of Howie Productions, a small business in Portland, and edited by Tom Manning of Portland.  If you wish to purchase the movie, they will be on sale at the Museum in both DVD and VHS tape modes.  Call the Sherman County Museum at (541) 565-3232 or email them at for more details.  The movie is a great 22-minute film of the history and culture of Sherman County today and its history.
