Sherman County Historical Museum Opens in May

Moro, OR – Opening day has arrived!  May 1st the Sherman County Historical Museum opened for the season and visitors are welcome daily 10 a.m. until 5p.m. through October.  Students from Sherman County Elementary are the local featured artist in the museum lobby for May and you don’t want to miss their creative artwork.  Also, come see the display on Discovering Our Backyard:  Celebrating Trails, Hikes and Parks right here in the Mid-Columbia and Gorge areas.  There is a new Community Collections Case at the museum which will feature newly donated items followed by rotating fun and interesting collections shared by different community members through October.

Visitors will enjoy being greeted by the friendly volunteers and experiencing the first-rate interpretive and hands-on exhibits at the museum as they learn about Sherman County’s Heritage.  Patriotism: Pride and Anguish, Wheat Through the Ages, The Sherman County Journal: Paper, Ink & Presses, Cultivation, Conservation and Clothespins and Oregon Trails, Rails and Roads in Sherman County are among the exhibits to enjoy.
