Sherman Historical Society Names Patti Fields Executive Director

Moro, Oregon – Sherman County Historical Society announced they have named Patti Fields as their Executive Director.  She is scheduled to begin work at the Museum in Moro on November 1st.

Society president Carrie Kaseberg noted, “SCHS trustees are excited about this selection.  Patti’s knowledge, skills, experiences and enthusiasm will be a valuable addition to our team.”

A Sherman County native, Fields was born and raised in Grass Valley, Oregon.  She graduated from the University of Portland in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications Management and played basketball for the Portland Pilots Women’s Basketball Team for four years.  Following graduation, Fields worked in production for KGW-TV in Portland for a year before moving on to be a TV News Photographer for KREM-TV in Spokane, Washington.  Returning to Oregon, she worked as an editor for the Evening program at KGW-TV.  In 1995 Patti married Tracy Fields, a fourth generation Sherman County farmer. They settled into farm life in Wasco where, along with raising wheat and cattle, they are very busy raising their three children.

Since returning to Sherman County, Fields has worked with the Sherman County 4-H Program, been involved with numerous committees, coached several youth sports teams and worked ten years for USDA Farm Service Agency in Moro.  Her interests include photography, sports, the outdoors and following her boys’ activities.

The museum is open daily May through October.  For additional information contact the Society at 541-565-3232 or info@shermanmuseum.org or visit www.shermanmuseum.org
