New Editors Join Museum Team
Moro, Ore. – The Sherman County Historical Society Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the appointment of editors for Sherman County: For the Record, the twice-yearly historical anthology published by the Society since 1983 and one of the benefits of Society membership.
Editors Sue Smith and Molly Faria of Wasco and Elwin Grout of The Dalles will be gathering and preparing stories for publication in the spring 2012 issue.
A non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing local history, those who wish to submit Sherman County family or event records, stories or photographs are encouraged to contact the editors who reserve the right to edit as necessary and appropriate. A summary of published topics is posted at www.shermanmuseum.org .
The fall 2011 issue, produced by interim editors Kathleen Ahearn, Mark Fields, Sherry Kaseberg and Chris Sanders, will be in the mail to members this week.
Contents include: My WWII Military Reflections: Part Two by Dewey Thomas; Ray Sink: A Promising Life Comes to Tragic End by Chris Sanders; The Sink Family by Chris Sanders; The Bulls of Oregon by Tom Bull; A Cowboy in the Making by Joe Harvey; Scramble Calves by Joe Harvey; 4-H Livestock to the Pacific International Livestock Exposition by Train by Joe Harvey; An Inscribed Basalt Column by Sherry Kaseberg; Mason Letters 1915 & 1997; 1949 Moro Grain Elevator Fire by Joe Harvey; Grandmother Johnson’s Recipes by Kenneth Deibert Johnson; Moro M.E. Church 1924 Ladies Aid Society Recipes by Chris Sanders; and Memorial Contributions by Christy Brown.

While the museum is closed for the winter, The Museum Store will be open on Saturday, December 3 from 10 until 3 for the annual Christmas Open House and Museum Store Sale.
