Rigging Company to Move Journal

Moro, Ore. - The Sherman County Journal is on the move! On November 1st, Sherman County Historical Museum volunteers and a professional rigging company will move 14 heavy pieces of the print shop artifact collection to the museum for cleaning in preparation for an exhibit to open next year.
Volunteers are invited to assist in cleaning these artifacts on November 2, 3, 4 and 5 between 9 and 4 o’clock, and will be required to use safety gear and follow instructions for applications on metal and wood components. Layered work clothing, elbow grease and goggles for eye protection are recommended. Lunch will be served on site.
Cleaning supplies will be limited to those provided, including abrasive pads, toothpicks, toothbrushes, WD-40, mineral spirits, hard paste wax, VM&P naphtha, and disposable shop rags, gloves and masks. The work space is under an un-heated shed roof on the side of the museum, open on three sides and protected by tarps for wind protection.
