Sherman County: For The Record - Seeks Editors

Moro, Oregon – Local stories by local folks since 1983 – that’s Sherman County: For the Record, the popular twice-yearly historical anthology published by the Sherman County Historical Society.
The Society seeks a team of editors who will enjoy contributing to local history while meeting the Society’s mission to gather, preserve, research, interpret, exhibit and publish materials related to Sherman County.
Editors are appointed by the Board of Trustees, and are expected to acquire and prepare material for publication, meet publishing schedules, understand the Society’s audiences, and follow basic standard practices in writing, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Interim editors for the 2011 issues of For the Record will be pleased to meet with interested volunteers to describe the process and/or mentor new editors and provide manuscripts received by the Society for this publication.
Earlier editors found it to be a most interesting assignment as they gathered public and personal records and made connections with people and shared their stories.
The Society’s summary of topics published since 1983 are posted at  under Publications. Interested? Contact the Society for more information at
